  Turunç

The bay of Turunç is one of the most beautiful along the coast of the Bozburun Peninsula. The mountains are covered with pine trees which are a haven for wildlife. The natural pine honey from this area is one of the many products of this bountiful landscape.

Turunç was previously only accessible by sea. Despite recently improved access by road from Marmaris, the resort has retained its traditional charm and it continues to be regarded as one of Turkey's best kept secrets. The pace of life in Turunç is unhurried. It's pine-tree sheltered bay and handful of shops and restaurants lend the resort a feel of intimacy. From time to time yachts casually drop anchor to let their passengers explore the bay and swim in the clear waters of the blue-flagged beach. As well as the resort town of Marmaris, the impressive remains of Amos are within easy reach. Dating back to hellenistic times, the ruins include a hillside amphitheatre, a temple and statue pedestals.

The mild climate here enables you to swim in the sea for seven months of the year. Even in the winter months the temperature rarely falls below 15º. During the summer there is usually a cooling breeze coming down from the mountains.
The friendliness of the villagers and the beautiful surroundings make it the perfect destination for family holidays.

Turunç has two local doctors on call. There is a small surgery in the centre of the village and a chemists. The nearest hospital is 15 minutes away in Içmeler or 25 minutes away in Marmaris.

Dalaman Airport is 100km away and transfers take around one and a half hours minutes.
