| Dalaman is one of the few coastal areas which is still relatively undeveloped and unspoilt. The town itself is several miles inland and remains predominantly Turkish, with basic English spoken in most of the cafes and restaurants. Tourism is relatively new to the area, consequently prices are lower than in many of the resort towns. The Turkish government has now designated the town a main touristic area, making Dalaman an ideal location for property investment. The time to buy in this area really is now! The Turkish government has now released its plans for the tourist development of three very large areas, situated on the beautiful argricultral land in Tigem. The three areas have been allocated for 'Golf City', 'Health Resort' and 'Nature Park', these will incorporate golf courses (one already being built), a very large Spa Resort Hotel with a capacity of 10,000 guests, man made lake, parks, holiday village, sports areas, climbing, horse riding, trekking and much more. The plans are huge and the project is set out over the next 3-4 years. Once completed Dalaman will be one of the major touristic towns in Turkey. The town has much to offer, with an abundance of shops, restaurants serving delicious traditional dishes, small bars, tea gardens and the stunning beach at Sarigerme only 15 minutes drive from the town, there is plenty to do and see. Dalaman's location could not be better, with many resort towns only minutes drive away, the sophisticated marina town of Gocek is only a 15 min. drive, Dalyan only 20 min. drive and the popular resorts towns of Marmaris an hours drive, and Fethiye just a 35 min. drive away. There is plenty of transport available, with taxi's and a new bus station offering buses and dolmus to each area regularly. Facilities are good with schools, university, doctors, hospital and vets available. Nearer the town, there is already a lot of building activity, ranging from apartments to luxury villas, often within walking distance to the town and with good mountain views. As an established town, Dalaman has a wide range of shops and also a Hamam or Turkish bath and a large weekly market with plenty of fresh produce and various other bargains to be found. If you are buying in Dalaman or surrounding area's you will fly to Dalaman airport, an added bonus as this removes the lengthy and sometimes nail biting transfers that apply to other areas in Turkey. Dalaman has so much to offer and is rapidly becoming recognised as a 'top tip' area for investment in Turkey, with a growing British community living in the town and surrounding areas.
